PE can be jointed to flanges utilising: Stub flanges (a section of PE pipe with stub or neck with a metal backing ring) which are welded onto the PE pipe and bolted via the backing ring onto the mechanical flange PE flange adaptors or couplings. These are specialist fittings using "teeth" and liner technology to prevent joint pull out as the PE pipeline expands and contracts.
